In the “Liste des Auteurs par ordre de Matières” in the *Dictionnaire des sciences naturelles* (Cuvier, 1816) M. Dumont (M. = Monsieur) is to find in the chapter “Oiseaux”. Also Robert Kaye Greville (1830: 164) explained the dedication."
