### Publications
##### n.18.167. Genera plantarum
**Title**
*Genera plantarum* vocabulis characteristicis definita... \[Danzig\] 1776. Oct.
**Abbreviated title**: *Gen. pl.*
**Notes**
*Publ*.: 1776-1780 (t.p. date is 1776, but p. \[149\] of the Concordantia is dated 1780. The *Genera* itself can be regarded to have been published in 1776, the Concordantia in 1780), p. \[1\]-8, chart, \[1\]-177, \[178, err.\]. *Concordantia botanica*: \[1-149\]. *Copies*: G, MO, USDA; IDC 5821.
*Note*: The monomial nomenclature in code form introduced in these books (i.e. incl. the *Gen. sp. pl.* below) runs parallel to the Linnaean nomenclature and is alternative to it, not replacing it. The ordinary Latin names of genera in this publication have normal standing in nomenclature. \[e.g. Vincetoxicum on p. 130\]. Fuchs' statement that the Latin names are merely synonyms of the technical monomials is not supported here. Wolf's parallel nomenclature was intended to obtain a code-designation based on characters (see the title of the book). See Ross 1966 for an extensive commentary.
