André L. de Vilmorin; head of *Vilmorin-Andrieux et Cie*, 1843-1860; set up experimental farm at Verrières-le-Buisson. **Abbreviated name**: *Vilm.* \[standard form in IPNI: *Vilm.*\] #### Herbarium and types Private. – *Letters at [[Collection GH|GH]]*. #### Note - (1) The firm of *Vilmorin-Andrieux* was founded in 1780 by Philippe *Victoire* Levêque *de Vilmorin* (1746-1840); replacing the original firm Andrieux et Vilmorin of 1775-1780. His successor (from 1804-1843) as head of the firm was Pierre Philippe *André* Levêque de Vilmorin (1776-1862).
