Thury; assistant (1901-1902), lecturer (1902-1907) at the University of Warsaw; professor of botany and agronomy at the Veterinary Institute of Warsaw 1907; professor of botany and microbiology at the Polytechnic Institute ib. 1908-1915; professor of botany at Dorpat 1917; specially interested in botanical chromatography.

The author used the spelling Tsvett in his later works. Wrote to J. Briquet (19 Mar 1897) "Vous devez me considérer plutôt comme un compatriote que comme le Russe que je ne suis pas". – Major work: *Les chromophylles dans les mondes végétal et animal*, Warsaw 1910, 380 p.
