Tournefort, 1686-1688) and Leiden (with P. Hermann 1688-1689); in Ireland 1690-1694; D. C.L. Oxford 1694; consul at Smyrna 1702-1716; collecting in Greece and Asia minor; founded a chair of botany at Oxford of which J.J.
