Duplicates are in several herbaria ([[Collection BM|BM]], [[Collection F|F]], [[Collection FI|FI]], [[Collection G|G]], [[Collection G|G]]-DC, [[Collection K|K]], [[Collection MO|MO]], [[Collection NY|NY]], [[Collection OXF|OXF]], [[Collection US|US]]). In addition to the herbarium, Sessé and Mociño brought together a large collection of coloured plates (now at [[Collection HU|HU]]) drawn from living specimens in Mexico and Puerto Rico (artists Atanasio Echeverria and Juan Cerda). These drawings were obtained on loan by A.P. de Candolle, who had them copied before returning them to Mociño (IDC 713). De Candolle based 279 species and 17 new genera on them. These sets of "outlines" were distributed by Alph. de Candolle to [[Collection B|B]], [[Collection BR|BR]], [[Collection C|C]], [[Collection FI|FI]], [[Collection GH|GH]], [[Collection K|K]], [[Collection L|L]], [[Collection LE|LE]], [[Collection P|P]], [[Collection US|US]], [[Collection W|W]]. – See TL-2/977. For the original drawings see below (Manuscripts). #### Manuscripts Botanical manuscripts mainly at MA (see Divito 1968); other manuscript material relative to the Royal botanical expedition is in the Mexican national archives. See R. McVaugh (*in* DSB and other publications listed below) for a summary of the material, and see H.W. Rickett 1947 for an account of the Expedition and its participants. The original collection of botanical and zoological illustrations mentioned above were acquired by the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation (HU) in 1981, see e.g. R.W. Kiger (1981); about 100 original illustrations are at MA. – Some *letters* at G. #### Bibliography and biography Backer p. 657; Barnhart 3: 261; Blunt p. 303; BM 4: 1905, 8: 1179; Clokie p. 242; Colmeiro penins. p. 64, 184-185, 379-381; DSB 12: 326-328 (extensive inf. by R.
