Wien 1796; professor of zoology, botany and mineralogy at the Theresianum, Wien 1797; from 1806 id. of chemistry and botany at Cracow; from 1808 of natural history and chemistry at Innsbruck; from 1809-1831 professor of general natural history and botany at the University of Landshut, Bavaria, as well as director of its surgical school. **Abbreviated name**: *Schult.* \[standard form in IPNI: *Schult.*\] #### Herbarium and types [[Collection M|M]] (the greater part of the original herbarium, acquired 1826). Many of the Roemer and Schultes types are in the Shuttleworth herbarium, now at [[Collection BM|BM]]. Another part of the herbarium is reported (ÖbW 1854; Lindemann 1886) to have been acquired in 1853 by CW. We have no recent information on these collections. Mosses collected by Schultes are in the Schwaegrichen herbarium at [[Collection G|G]] (fide Sayre, 1979).
