Giobbe in Venezia. **Abbreviated name**: *Ruchinger* \[standard form in IPNI: *Ruch.*\] #### Herbarium and types "Ruchinger" collections at [[Collection W|W]] (algae), further algae at [[Collection HBG|HBG]]. – Possibly partly collected by G. Ruchinger's son Giuseppe Maria Ruchinger 1809-1879. A large collection of plants from Venezia collected by "G. Ruchinger" was at [[Collection B|B]] (now mainly destroyed). #### Note Ruchinger had three sons: Giuseppe Maria Ruchinger (1809-1879) who succeeded his father as head of the Venetia botanical garden; Giuseppe Ruchinger, Jr. (1802-1856) professor of pathology at Praha, and Francesco R., physician at Verona. Ruchinger Sr. collected algae and was in correspondence with e.g. C.A. Agardh and F.T. Kützing (see Müller & Zaunick 1960). – G.M. Ruchinger published a *Cenni storici dell' I.R.
