Hamburg 1922; from 1922-1958 at Berlin-Dahlem (1922 assistant; curator 1948); professor at the Humboldt University, Berlin 1947-1951; bryologist and student of the flora of the Mark Brandenburg. **Abbreviated name**: *Reimers* \[standard form in IPNI: *Reimers*\] #### Herbarium and types [[Collection B|B]]; other material at [[Collection NY|NY]]. – Reimers' private herbarium, library and manuscripts were all destroyed in the night of 1/2 Mar 1943. The material collected and bought after 1943 is extant (50.000 specimens); it forms the nucleus of the new cryptogamic herbarium at [[Collection B|B]] (see e.g. Pilger 1953). #### Note Among the manuscripts destroyed in 1943 were an almost completed flora of the Mark Brandenburg and a moss flora of the Balkan peninsula, the fruits of decades of intensive research. #### Bibliography and biography Barnhart 3: 141; BFM no. 1348, 3091; Biol.-Dokum. 14: 7389-7391; BJI 2: 144; BM 8: 1062; Bossert p. 328; Christiansen p. 219 \[index\]; Futak-Domin p. 500; GR p. 40, cat. p. 70; Hirsch p. 245; IF suppl. 3: 217, 4: 337; IH 1 (ed. 1): 10, (ed. 2): 23, (ed. 3): 26, (ed. 4): 27, 2: (in press); MW p. 411-412, suppl. p. 292; SBC p. 160; TL-2/6494; Zep-Tim p. 96 (b. 17 Jun 1893, d. 18 Mai 1961). #### Biofile - Anon., Fl.
