Schneider. #### Eponymy *Potoniea* Zeiller (1899), see ING 3: 1406. #### Note Potonié proposed the use of the prefix "p" for names of fossil taxa which are junior homonyms of names already in use for recent genera such as e.g. *Callipteris* and *p-Callipteris* (e.g. Potonié in Naturw. Wochenschrift 15: 313-314. 1900; in EP Nat. Pflanzenfam. 1(4), 1902, and in Abbild. Beschr. foss. Pfl. 1903-1919). This method has not been followed by others and was also abandoned by Potonié himself. The prefix "p" must be treated as a symbol and should be left out of account (see e.g. J.H.F.
