The main set of the Peruvian and Amazonas collections went to [[Collection W|W]] with Poeppig's own herbarium. – Poeppig specimens from S. Africa came from his herbarium and were probably collected by Wilhelm Gueinzius (1814-1874); Poeppig himself never visited S. Africa.
