(Contains a biogr. introduction, a list of herbaria holding exsicc., a bibliography and the index to taxa treated by Petrak, letters A-B). #### Note Petrak was a profilic writer. His enormous output is divided over nearly five hundred separate publications. Much of his mycological work was published in the *Annales mycologici* and its successor *Sydowia*. According to Riedl (1978) Petrak described nearly 400 new genera and thousands of new species of fungi. His private mycological herbarium consisted ultimately of nearly 100.000 specimens. "In seinen Sammlungen wie seinen Publikationen waren Petrak's Dimensionen fast zu gross für unsere nach raschen Erledigungen drängende Zeit; zu gross, auch für ihn selbst zu einer umfassenden Bewältigung." #### Composite works - (1) Collaborator Hegi, *Ill. fl. Mitteleur.* ed. 2, 3(1). - (2) published sets 33-47 of the *Cryptogamae exsiccatae*, edited by W, see TL-2/387; accompanied by *Schedae*, in Ann. Naturhist. Mus.
