Qu. **Abbreviated title**: *Traité champ.* **Notes** *1*: 1790, (p. xxxvi, 15 Jun 1790), p. \[i\*-v\*\], \[i\]-xxxvi, \[1\]-629. *Copies*: B, Paris (Bibl. natl.). With imprint: " A Paris, de l'Imprimerie royale, mdcclxxxx". The Paris copy has a second t.p., dated 1793, immediately following the first, 1790. All other copies seen by us are as above and as follows: 1: 1793, p. \[i\*, iii\*\], \[i\]-xxxvi, \[1\]-629. *2*: 1793, p. \[i\*, iii\*\], \[i\]-viii, \[1\]-476, index \[1-11\], \[1, err.\]. Copies: BR, FH(2), G, LG, NY, Paris (Bibl. natl., second copy), Stevenson, USDA; IDC 5634. The second FH copy has bound in the prospectus of 1808 (see below). *Plates*: published between 1808 and 1835 as *Iconographie des champignons*, in fascicles of which the details are not yet known. According to Nissen there were 42 fasc. of which nos. 31-42 came out posthumously. The maximum number of plates is said to be *232* on *217* leaves; however, we have been able to find only 223 numbers. The Stevenson copy (which lacks t.p. and introduction) has the following plates: *1*: portr. Paulet, *1-17, 17bis, 18-19, 20bis, 21-22, 22bis, 23-24, 24bis, 25-35, 35bis, 36-39, 69bis, 70-100, 100bis* (col. copp. Fossier del.) \[Lacking 97bis\]. *2*: 101-129, 129bis, 130, 132-135, 135bis, 136-139, 139bis, 140, 140\[bis\], 141-148, 148ter, 149-156, 156bis, 156\[bis\], 157-168, 168bis, 169-183, 183bis, 184-190, 190bis, 191-195, 197-204 (id.). \[Lacking 112bis, 122bis, 166bis\]. *Plates*: re-issue with new text: see J.H. Léveillé, *Iconographie des champignons de Paulet*, Paris 1855, q.v. (TL-2/4470). *Note on date*: V. Demoulin et al. (1981) hold that the text was not published in 1790 and 1793, but in 1808. The evidence contained in the 1808 prospectus that no copies at all of the text were distributed in 1793 is not convincing. The circumstance that there are two issues (with different imprints), of vol. 1, one dated 1790 and one 1793 could point at the distribution of at least a few copies. It is important to note Demoulin et al.'s reference to the difference in nomenclature in the text and on the plates. However, the fact that Paulet, in 1808, no longer accepted the 1790-1793 names has no bearing on their nomenclatural standing if the dates of 1790-1793 are accepted as that of effective publication of the text. Dr. Demoulin informs us that most names in dispute occur in the second volume (1793). The question remains unresolved and depends on the interpretation of the sentence in the 1808 prospectus quoted by Demoulin. ##### n.7520. De la mycétologie **Title** *De la mycétologie*, ou traité historique, graphique, culinaire, et médical des Champignons \[Paris circa 1812\]. **Abbreviated title**: *Mycétologie*. **Notes** *Publ*.: The only copy known to us is that mentioned by Donk (1960), which is apparently a re-issue of the old sheets with a new title-page \[1835\]. This re-issue may be different for each copy because sample plates are added. For further details see Donk (1960). *Ref*.: Donk, M.A., Persoonia 1: 176-179. 1960. ##### n.7521.
