[^1]: "*Neumayera* Rchb. 1841 (Caryophyllaceae) Very likely for Franz Neumayer (?–1840), Austrian botanist, ornithologist, studied medicine in Vienna. Since 1825 at Ragusa/ Austria (now Dubrovnik/Croatia) where he collected plants. He was a “living book” of natural history and is merited of increasing the knowledge of the flora in the Austrian Empire (Petter, 1843: 257). There is no dedication given by Reichenbach, but the habitat of the plant is mentioned: “Breyner Alpen an der OesterreichischSteirischen Grenze ...”, a part in the Austrian Alps (Reichenbach, 1841: 30). *Note*. – Georg Balthasar von Neumayer (1826–1909) was only 15 years old in 1841 and was at school until 1845 before studying engineer sciences, mathematics, physics, and astronomy. *Note*. – *Neumayera* Rchb.f. 1872 (Orchidaceae) Reichenbach f. used a false orthography citing F. Müller’s *Niemeyera stylidioides*. *Niemeyera* F.Müll. 1867 (Orchidaceae) \[is dedicated to\] Felix (von) Niemeyer (1820–1871), German physician, pathologist, professor of medicine in Greifswald and Tübingen (Müller, 1867: 96). Felix (von) Niemeyer was later honoured once more with the genus *Niemeyera* F.Müll. 1870 (Sapotaceae), Müller deciding *Niemeyera* 1867 to be a synonym of *Apostasia* Blume (Müller, 1870: 114). *Niemeyera* 1870 is conserved over *Niemeyera* 1867 (Wiersema & al., 2015: 267)."
