Gómez* \[standard form in IPNI: *M.Gómez*\] #### Note Colleagues who know Hispanic personal nomenclature postulate \[not confirmed\] that (1) his paternal family name was Gómez, (2) his paternal grandmother's family name was de la Maza, presumably an important family name and (3) his maternal family name was Jiménez.
