C.; died from shotwounds on a military expedition to Florida. **Abbreviated name**: *Leitn.* \[standard form in IPNI: *Leitn.*\] #### Herbarium and types Jean Louis Cabanis (1816-1906) acquired some 800 Leitner specimens (mainly from Florida) which came to [[Collection B|B]] (destroyed 1873; a few specimens may perhaps have been saved).
