Planchon's revision of the family in the *Revue horticole* of 16 Feb 1853 antedates Lehmann's treatment. The delivery of an oral paper by Lehmann on this subject, in Sep 1852, does not constitute valid publication. Planchon's publication, however, contains hardly any descriptions: these were given in the *Ann.
