### Author
Labillardière, Jacques Julien Houttou de (1775-1834), French explorer and botanist; studied medicine at Montpellier; travelled in near East 1786; on expedition to find La Pérouse 1791-1795; from 1828 at Rouen.
**Abbreviated name**: *Labill.* \[standard form in IPNI: *Labill.*\]
#### Herbarium and types
Labillardière's herbarium was acquired by Webb (1834) and is now at [[Collection FI|FI]]. A nearly complete set of duplicates is also at [[Collection FI|FI]], acquired with the Desfontaines herbarium. It contains the first set of the plants collected by him on the voyage in search of La Pérouse. The most important set of duplicates of these collections was acquired by Dclessert (now [[Collection G|G]]). Labillardière's Syrian collections were originally in the Lemonnier herbarium, now at [[Collection G|G]], and the types of the *Icones plantarum Syriae rariorum* are therefore also at [[Collection G|G]]. The types of his lichens and algae collected on the Pérouse expedition are in part at [[Collection PC|PC]], but in general the types from this expedition are at [[Collection FI|FI]].
