Jacquemont, Victor (1801-1832), French explorer and naturalist, travelled in the United States and Canada and on the Zélée via the South to India; in India 1829-1832; friend of Stendhal.

#### Herbarium and types
The collections made for the Muséum d'Histoire naturelle on the trip to the East (*Voyage dans l'Inde*) (1823-1832) were received by the Muséum ([[Collection P|P]], [[Collection PC|PC]]) in 1833 and were accompanied by manuscript catalogues (see Leroy in A. W. Brown et al.). The main Jacquemont herbarium (1818-1827) was acquired by Jules Hennecart (1797-1888) and came to [[Collection P|P]] in 1889 with the latter's herbarium. Montpellier ([[Collection MPU|MPU]]) has another part of the Jacquemont herbarium (through Cambessèdes).
