*Muirella* R. Sprague (1959). – The John Muir Memorial Park and Muir's Lake, Wisconsin, U.S.A. – *Muiria* C. A. Gardner (1933) is named after "Sir Thomas Muir of Warungu, Morden \[Australia\], who accompanied me on the two occasions when this plant was collected." *Muiria* N. E. Brown (1927) [^1] was named after a John Muir (and his daughter Hortense Muir) who was still alive in 1927 and who sent living material of the plant concerned to the author.
