Fasc. 1-23, nos. 1-725, Bergen 1901-1952, sets at [[Collection BG|BG]], [[Collection C|C]], [[Collection H|H]], [[Collection O|O]], [[Collection UPS|UPS]]. - (2) *Lichenes Norvegiae occidentalis exsiccati*, a Museo Bergense editi. Fasc. 1-12, nos. 1-300. Bergen 1912-1954. Sets at [[Collection BG|BG]], [[Collection FH|FH]], [[Collection LD|LD]], [[Collection LE|LE]], [[Collection O|O]], [[Collection PC|PC]], [[Collection S|S]], [[Collection UPS|UPS]]; for incomplete sets see IH. *Index*: Lynge, B., Index sp. var. lich. 241-248. 1915-1918; suppl. p. 234. *Note* (by P. M. Jorgensen): Havaas was for a very long time "stipendiat" at [[Collection BG|BG]], a position which allowed him to continue his lichenological studies at his farm at Granvin. Under this arrangement Havaas had to deliver the first set of his collections to [[Collection BG|BG]] and to keep only duplicates for his personal use. All specimens on which Havaas published are at [[Collection BG|BG]]. Upon Havaas' death his son sold the private herbarium kept at home to [[Collection DUKE|DUKE]]. This collection contained mainly duplicates of what was already at [[Collection BG|BG]] but also some material collected in later years which had not yet been identified. In addition to these main collections there are Havaas collections not necessarily duplicating the holdings at [[Collection BG|BG]], at [[Collection TUR|TUR]] (via Vainio), [[Collection H|H]] (via G. Lång), [[Collection UPS|UPS]] (through Magnusson), and at [[Collection O|O]] (only few, mainly material sent to Lynge). The location of regular sets of exsiccatae is mentioned above. *Ref*.: V.A., Rev. bryol. lichén. 34: 376. 1966 (on acquisition by DUKE of "the cryptogamic herbarium" of Havaas). - Sayre, G., Mem.
