### Author
Schlagintweit-Sakünlünski, Hermann Alfred Rudolph von (1826-1882), German (Bavarian) traveller, geographer, plant collector and explorer of Northern India, the Himalaya, Karakorum and Tibet 1854-1857.

#### Herbarium and types
The herbarum of the three Schlagintweit brothers, Adolph (1829-1857), Hermann (see above) and Robert (1833-1885) was for the greater part acquired by B, partly by direct acquisition, partly through P. Hennings who acquired the remaining part of the herbarium, sold several sets to others but who also presented a further set of 1155 nos. from India and the Himalayas to [[Collection B|B]] (Urban 1891); the greater part of these collections was destroyed in 1943. Other herbaria usually cite collections simply as "Schlagintweit"; material is reported from [[Collection BM|BM]] (2050), [[Collection BR|BR]], [[Collection E|E]], [[Collection G|G]], [[Collection GH|GH]], [[Collection GOET|GOET]], [[Collection HBG|HBG]], [[Collection JE|JE]], [[Collection L|L]], [[Collection LE|LE]], [[Collection M|M]], [[Collection MO|MO]], [[Collection PR|PR]], [[Collection S|S]], [[Collection US|US]], [[Collection WRSL|WRSL]], [[Collection W|W]], [[Collection WU|WU]].
