Rehder redetermined many of Léveillé's plants at E and published the results (which included many reductions) in a series of articles in the Journal of the Arnold Arboretum (see below) entitled *Notes on the ligneous plants described by H. Léveillé from eastern Asia*. The last part (18: 278-321) contains a comprehensive index to all binomials cited, with reductions of Léveillé's species (MW 1: 409-410). Merrill and Walker also give descriptive and critical notes on several of Léveillé's often very ephemeral publications. The articles by Rehder were published as follows: J. The signatures 4-19 are dated. The receipt of various parts at Kew shows that distribution took place in sets of one to several signatures. There is not sufficient evidence that the signatures were not available soon after dates of printing (MW state that the book was issued as a whole after 5 Mai 1917), and publication must be assumed to have taken place in the two or three months after printing.
