Soc. Geneva in 1877 (when founded), built a considerable herb. that was incorporated into the Delessert Herb., after 1879 he began microscope studies of cryptogams, particularly lich., then mosses and hepatics, from 1908 asst. curator of mosses at Geneva (under J.I.
