Frickhinger family. Prof. Karl Mägdefrau kindly provided F.A. Stafleu (in litt., 15 Sep 1979) data on this Bavarian family that may help others sort out its four generations of botanists (and naturalists).

1st generation: (1) Christian Albert (Adalbert) Frickhinger (pharmacist, b. 16 Jan 1818 in Nördlingen, d. 20 Mar 1907 in Nördlingen). – In 1848, published on vegetation with Adalbert Schnizlein (A. Frickhinger's brother-in-law), see TL-2/5, nr. 10.967.
2nd generation: (1) Hermann Adalbert (Albert) Frickhinger*\** (pharmacist, b. 8 Jan 1851 in Nördlingen, d. 4 Mai 1940 in Nördlingen, see TL-2/1: 878). – Published on vascular plants 1905-1926, incl. *Gefässkrypt. & Phanerogamenfl. Ries.*... 1911, see TL-2/1, nr. 1861. (2) Karl Frickhinger (medical doctor, president of Munich Red Cross, b. 3 Mai 1863).
3rd generation: (1) Ernst Christoph Frickhinger (botanist, b. 3 Oct 1876 in Nördlingen, d. 10 Oct 1940 in Nördlingen), son of H.A. Frickhinger. – Thesis on plants of the Rieses 1904, 1922, 1926. (2) Hans Walter Frickhinger, son of Karl Frickhinger (wrote on nature, incl. plant diseases, b. 18 Sep 1889 in Nördlingen, d. 25 Jan 1955 in Geisenhausen?).
4th generation: (1) Karl Albert Frickhinger (pharmacist and paleontologist who published on fossil fishes, b. 1924, d. 28 Mai 2003, see Archaeopteryx: Jahreszeitschrift der Freun de des Jura-Museums Eichstätt 21: 69. 2003).
