The original herbarium of Abbé Pierre Jean Marie Delavay (1834-1895) is at P and PC (15.600 specimens). The 39 lithographs of drawings by A. d'Apréval are numbered 1-45 of which 2-3, 9-10, 27-28, 29-30, 32-33 and 34-35 represent one plate each; 15 more plates were prepared, but not published; occasional copies of these plates (especially of no. 46) were distributed later (e.g. 46-48 to New York, rd. Sep 1903). Nos. 46-48 were also included in the copy sold by the publishers Klincksieck to U in 1941. Publication was discontinued by Franchet himself for unknown reasons.
