Breslau 1892; first appointment as e.o. prof. of botany at Breslau 1901; travelled in Abyssinia 1904-1905; e.o. professor of botany and director of the Breslau botanical institute 1906; ordinary professor 1920; murdered in Breslau 1925. **Abbreviated name**: *F. Rosen* \[standard form in IPNI: *F.Rosen*\] #### Herbarium and types [[Collection WRSL|WRSL]]. #### Notes - (1) After the death of Cohn (1898) Rosen had to leave the Breslau botanical institute from 1901-1906 because of difficulties with J.O. Brefeld. He returned only on 1 Apr 1906 as professor and director of the institute for plant physiology. The press notices of his appointment as extraordinary professor in 1902 are therefore not quite clear. - (2) Friedrich Rosén (baron) (1834-1903) was a Russian (b.
