### Author
Bonpland, Aimé Jacques Alexandre (Goujaud) (1773-1858), French explorer and botanist.
**Abbreviated name**: *Bonpl.* \[standard form in IPNI: *Bonpl.*\]
#### Herbarium and types
for the American collections see under Humboldt et Bonpland (at [[Collection P|P]] and [[Collection B|B]]). The *Description des plantes rares cultivées à Malmaison et à Navarre* was based on living plants. Some herbarium specimens of plants grown at Malmaison have been traced by Jovet in the Paris herbarium ([[Collection P|P]]); but so far none of the types of Bonpland's book.
