Neuchâtel), studied pharmacy and later medicine in Bern, received M.D. 1890, Prof. of Botany, Lausanne, moved to Madeira 1887 because of poor health, visited Haiti 1888, died of tuberculosis on 13 Sep 1893 in Funchal, Madeira. **Abbreviated name**: *A.
